has anyone taken the classes at JCS? good? cos i noticed their duration is longer than most language schools here...(about close to a year)...
i took elementary jap for fun at my local CC some years back..although the sensei is not too bad, and materials are so-so..the most difficult part is practising the lang in everyday context..cos hardly anyone i know speaks jap well... JCS (on its website) promises interaction with jap speakers and they open their library to the students...for those who have taken courses with JCS...is this useful? and how often do u utilise these "extras"? |

Hi... Yes... but i haven't took at JCS before.
You should join our meetup at Tea Chapter to help with the speaking. I don't really advise u to go JCS. Go somewhere like Ikoma or Hougang. |

I personally introduce Aoba Language Centre. Heard of it? The teachers there are really good and patient. The materials given is not bad too. Sometimes if you really need extra Notes or homework, they gladly print it for you. The school will also organise a Japanese exchange programme every 3 mths. From there, I had already expanded my network of Japanese. I also managed to learn a lot new things. Hi Takeshi, could you give me the link to the website? I've searched this school since you mentioned it, but nothing came up =( The duration of 1 year for ALL JLPT?? Tha's kinda hard to believe. The pace would be too fast, right?? Please tell me more, onegai shimasu! I really want to learn and pass JLPT as soon as possible, I'm currently attending Elementary 2 at Pyaess. But it's pretty bad. So bad that I pontang-ed the last 2 lessons (the 2nd half which is taught by a Singaporean). The first half by the native Jap is good, but the 2nd half really sucked. -Lawliett |

What he means is that you can take JLPT 4 after 1 yr, JLPT 3 after another level, ... 4 years in all. Each course takes around 3 months (12 lessons), average of 3 courses per JLPT level. address : www.aoba.com.sg Teaching is not too bad, but like other smaller schools, it faces one common problem: difficult to get enough students to form a class at the higher levels. Maybe you want to consider Ikoma? |
