As a suggestion from our last meet-up, we are looking to have a Gyoza making and eating party! Venue will probably be at someone's house, volunteer's welcome! Gyoza is the fried dumplings that we usually get as appetizers at a Japanese restaurant. They come in many flavors in Japan as opposed to the usual pork ones we get here in the states. I am hoping we can make two or three kinds depending on people's tastes. Suggestions on types would be appreciated. Initial thoughts are shrimp, Nira (chinese garlic)/vegetarian and pork. Look forward to seeing you all there! Ron
“ It was great to see everyone again and two new folks showed. We all enjoyed vegetarian, scallop, pork and shrimp gyoza! I can't believe we ate something like 200 gyoza! We should do this again, maybe in the winter! ”
“ It was very well organized, and I had such a great time! It was awesome meeting both Japanese people and others interested in Japanese food and culture. I am looking forward to future events! ”
“ It was really fun to make Gyoza! It was a perfect variety of Gyoza (Regular Pork, Scallop, Shirimp and Veggie) and we enjoyed the taste of them and of course really enjoyd the conversation! Thank you for organizing the party! ”
