Saturday, August 8th, 3-7pm

Meet at the entrance of The Cliff House. Parking space available at Sutro Baths.
(south of the Golden Gate and The Presdio but north of Golden Gate Park.)
We will hike to Land's End, view Seal Rocks and Ocean Beach, go to the cave if it is low tide, walk down to Golden Gate Park to see some lakes and bison, then walk back to the cars. Obviously, it will be a lot of walking; about 3-6 miles depending on how much you can walk.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, bring sunglasses, sunblock, snacks and a drink, and layers since it could be windy, cool, or foggy at the beach. Binoculars, cameras, and sun hats may also be helpful.

There are a number of close options (but we will still probably have to drive instead of walk) for food and drinks after the hike.
Hope you will enjoy this event!

SFJLCM and Wai Wai are cooking up one massive bilingual, bicultural blow-out.

Here's the recipe:
Take fifty to a hundred people from the the largely American SFJLCM and largely Japanese Wai Wai, pour together into the back room of Tommy's Joynt around lunchtime on the first Sunday in May. Add in Tommy's full bar and large portions of hearty, inexpensive food. Leave the mixture to simmer for a few hours and see what happens. We're guessing lots of fun, new friendships and lots of eating
There is no entry fee and you are not strictly required to buy anything at Tommy's, though it would be a shame to let one of San Francisco's best moderately priced bars and kitchens go to waste.

We need a head count so please get back to me before Monday, April 20th.

See you there!

Naoka(Meetup Organizer) and Mieko(Waiwai Organizer)

<About the Japanese Art Performance at Space Gallery>

Exhibition title:
Surreality In Reality presents
Japanese Art Exhibition and Performances

The third series of this Japanese art exhibition, featuring live performances, will be presented by a plethora of mind-blowing Japanese local talent known as S.I.R.(Surreality In Reality). Introducing Japanese traditional culture just in time for the falling of Autumn leaves: for this, the season of reading, each artist visually depicts creations inspired by their favorite prominent Japanese poet or novelist. Since the age of The Tale of Genji, Autumn has been considered to be the ideal season of the annual cycle for one's complete immersion and enjoyment of literature, a foundation upon which they can rest their weary souls after the hectic, humid, eventful zenith of Summer. And while the eternal transition of seasons propels us towards the future, the world of legendary artists can be summoned through universal emotions that lure you to turn the pages of your internal journey of life stories.
