SFJLCM and Wai Wai are cooking up one massive bilingual, bicultural blow-out.
Here's the recipe:
Take fifty to a hundred people from the the largely American SFJLCM and largely Japanese Wai Wai, pour together into the back room of Tommy's Joynt around lunchtime on the first Sunday in May. Add in Tommy's full bar and large portions of hearty, inexpensive food. Leave the mixture to simmer for a few hours and see what happens. We're guessing lots of fun, new friendships and lots of eating
There is no entry fee and you are not strictly required to buy anything at Tommy's, though it would be a shame to let one of San Francisco's best moderately priced bars and kitchens go to waste.
We need a head count so please get back to me before Monday, April 20th.

“ Liked the people (first time in this group) but didn't like venue. Maybe I'm getting too old, but I enjoy meeting people in a more relaxing setting--especially on a Sunday afternoon. It was too hot, crowded, noisy and that negatively impacted the experience. I won't go to another one there, or in a similar setting. ” -

“ This is great joint event. I get to meet a lot of people old and new at the famous "I guess?" landmark place in SF that I remembered driving by so often but never ever took the time nor the effort to check it out. Great crowds, great event:) The only thing was that the event ended abruptly when we were told we have to leave because the time was up. I felt kinda lost and not sure what the next step should be while all of us standing at the sidewalk and wait. But overall ,it was an excellent event.
