This is more of a club/music event rather than a language meetup. However, there will be plenty of people to chat to in Japanese or English. As always there will be a great selection of sake, shochu and umeshu. They are also offering a 10% discount at the restaurant upstairs for those attending the event (this must be booked in advance).

The meetup is on the second Tuesday of each month, UPSTAIRS at the Slug and Lettuce.

This is from 19:00 to 23:00. It's close to Leicester Square and China town. There is good space to chat to people in Japanese and English. It is very informal but all are there to chat.
The pub is on Lisle Street which is off the bottom end of Wardour Street (near O Neils, Won Kei and just South of China Town's Gerrard Street). Lisle Street is on the corner where Waxy's Little Sister (pub) is.

Hi, hopefully the weather will hold out, though maybe we'll need jackets. We're having a last picnic event this summer in central London. Please bring a long some food and drink. Please see picture for map (double click for larger size). The spot is as close as possible to Regents Park (or Great Portland Street) tube stations.

To get to the picnic spot, turn left out of Regent's Park tube station (or Great Portlans Street station) along Maylebone road. You will come to Park Square West, across the road and on the right (there is a black iron gate here). Go up this road to the entrance. We will be about 40 metres on the left.

On the Regent's Park map, the area is called Marylebone Green.

For a change we're having a Saturday meetup and a picnic. We must be due for a decent summer by now!

If the weather is dodgy, we'll go ahead anyway. In case it's raining heavily, let's head to the GateClock, the Wetherspoon's pub next to Cutty Sark DLR (though please don't consume any picnic items there..). Let's try upstairs if it's open. If not we'll be at the picnic area!

Just bring along some food and drink, and if it's Japanese style, all the better. Picnic blankets also welcome!. If the weather is bad, we'll look at pub options in the area.

So, we'll meet at the park gates (the ones near the market) at 13:30. At 13:45 we'll move to the picnic area. We should be there until about 6, so if you are later, no problem!
